CLST
CLST - Composite Laminated Structural Timber
CLST is an advanced engineered timber product that combines the grain alignment advantages of glulam with the multi-directional strength of CLT, resulting in a panel system optimised for heavy structural loads and long spans.
Key Advantages
- High Bending Stiffness: Optimised layup sequences provide superior stiffness-to-weight ratios compared to standard CLT.
- Long Spans: Suitable for spans exceeding 12 m without intermediate supports, enabling open-plan floor layouts.
- Dimensional Stability: The composite layup minimises creep and shrinkage, ensuring reliable long-term performance.
- Acoustic Performance: Increased mass provides better airborne and impact sound insulation than lighter timber systems.
- Prefabrication Ready: All panels can be CNC-machined for connections, openings, and service penetrations before delivery.
Panel Options
CLST panels are produced in widths up to 2.95 m and lengths up to 18 m, with thicknesses from 120 mm to 400 mm. Hybrid configurations incorporating hardwood face veneers are available.
Typical Applications
- Long-span floor decks in commercial buildings
- Industrial and warehouse roof systems
- High-load bearing wall systems for multi-storey structures
- Bridge deck elements
- Hybrid steel-timber structural systems
Standards & Testing
CLST products are tested to EN 16351 and EN 14080 standards. Full structural performance data is supplied with every project delivery.
