Bois lamellé-collé

Glulam - Glued Laminated Timber

Glulam is produced by bonding multiple layers of kiln-dried, strength-graded timber laminations together with durable structural adhesives. The result is a structurally efficient and visually striking product used for beams, columns, arches, and frames in both residential and large-scale commercial projects.

Structural & Aesthetic Advantages

  • Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Higher strength-to-weight ratio than steel, allowing lighter foundations and faster erection.
  • Design Freedom: Can be produced in straight, curved, or tapered profiles, enabling dramatic architectural geometries.
  • Natural Aesthetics: The warm grain of exposed glulam creates welcoming interior environments.
  • Fire Performance: Chars predictably, retaining load-bearing capacity far longer than unprotected steel sections.
  • Dimensional Stability: Factory drying and lamination eliminate shrinkage and warping defects.
  • Long Spans: Glulam beams can span up to 30 m or more, suitable for sports halls, industrial buildings, and public spaces.

Profiles & Dimensions

Standard sections from 60 mm x 120 mm up to 280 mm x 1200 mm. Curved and tapered elements produced to order. Surface finishes: industrial, visual (sanded), and premium (planed).

Typical Applications

  • Exposed structural beams and columns in residential buildings
  • Portal frames for agricultural and industrial buildings
  • Sports halls, arenas, and public amenity buildings
  • Bridges and footbridges
  • Roof structures for commercial and retail spaces
